[RESOLVED]Webmatrix DB GUI

Ok, I’ve created MySQL database, and I see that column order is not the always the same.

I know it’s not a big problem, but I would like to see the data the same way I ordered them. If I need:

pk_ID, name, surname, address

I don’t want it to go:

name, address, pk_ID, surname

The fist table is Definition View, and underneath is Data View:

Mind the tumbleweed.

The timezone is showing GMT 00, probably never seen a tumbleweed.

Note the stacks of thermal paper.

We have telly in that time zone. Sometimes they show cowboy films on it.

Ra1den,

WebMatrix is written by engineers who produce an occasional tutorial (which never gets updated) but never use it day to day with the intent of coming up with a finished application.

Let alone an application that needs some troubleshooting at some point the future.

Are they still showing Coronation Street?

If I was sure that it wasn’t I who is doing something wrong, I would have suggest it for improvements, but up until I know if it needs improvement I can’t post it there.

Hello,

How you see in the definition and data views is not important.

You can show the data on the web page by specifying your own order.

I disagree, I think the the data views are kind of mickey mouse:

wm insists on resizing the column widths every chance it gets;

wm insists on the order of the columns;

wm3 insists on placing new data where ever it pleases.

All this would probably work for a Microsoft employee who writes a tutorial or two and can then forgot about it at all. For ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting it is a pain.
