One thing I’ve often found handy is to break when an exception is thrown rather than when it is unhandled. In other versions of VS I either press Ctrl+Alt+E or use the EXCEPTIONS menu item of the DEBUG menu
In VWD 2010, Ctrl+Alt+E doesnt work and there is no menu item called EXCEPTIONS on DEBUG menu. If I choose to CUSTOMIZE the menu, chose DEBUG commands from the left hand list, EXCEPTIONS is not present at all in the right hand list
Can someone tell me how I can make my VWD2010 show the window where I tick which exceptions I want the debugger to halt on throw rather than unhandled? MSDN docs imply that the menu can be customized to add it but this is NOT TRUE for my version
Can you check View -> Toolbars -> Customize -> Commands -> MenuBar: Debug -> Exceptions… exists?
If it is not exist and not exist in Add Command -> Debug, you can try to use devenv.exe /resetskippkgs to reload all packages.
I’m looking forward for your test result.
//View -> Toolbars -> Customize -> Commands -> MenuBar: Debug -> Exceptions
Does not exist
//If it is not exist and not exist in Add Command -> Debug, you can try to use devenv.exe /resetskippkgs to reload all packages
It didnt exist there either. I don’t have a devenv.exe, but calling VWDExpress.exe /ResetSettings from command line did NOT work..
I still have no "Exceptions.." in debug menu. This machine has VS 2005 and 2008 on also; is it causing some problem?
As far as I know, in VWDE 2010 Exceptions is not available by design.
