Hello everyone. I am hoping that someone can point me to a helper that can provide me with a TWO way encryption. The purpose of this would be for storing passwords in a database. I am basically creating an appliation that will store passwords in a database
for our appliations, and system logins. However one requirement will be that these are encrypted so that if someone was to physically steal the files it would be useless to them without the application or algorithim to decrypt them. I also prefer that the
library allows me to use a key.
So I was able to find a library in the helpers area. It was called the
EfficientlyLazy.Crypto. It actually works really well. The only problem I could not get over was figuring out how to import the library. I finally found this out by placing @using
EfficientlyLazy.Crypto in the page. I tried placing it in the _AppStart but that didn’t seem to help.
The problem I would face with Hashing is that when I went to retrieve a password for a application login it would not show up in clear text. Not sure if I was clear but I am not creating a login for an application. The application stores usernames and passwords
for other systems like my root logins, application logins, and website logins. With a hash it is one way.
