[RESOLVED]scheduled task

Good staff all quiet,

First of all I want to thank you for the professionalism and the seriendade who have managed this site.

Need to create a routine that will run daily and check the term of certain data more do not want to create an app or a windows service consele is the way I always do. But i know that java is possible to define a notation that runs as a scheduled task that
will run while the application is on the server. Using Mvc 5 there is a possibility to do that while this application on IIS on a particular method is executed according to a schedule?

hugs

that’s Apache not Java. IIS does not have a schedule service. You need to use your old techniques, sql agent, service or at job.

Very good relative performance has some embarrassment?

Application is slow, normal or will ever run on the server.

Thanks

I’m not sure who you are replying to and whether that is a question or a comment.

My question is the following will not slow down the application.

I’m doing several tested and checked before the job starts running only when I go for the first time on a client machine or application server.

If you just do not run the deploy and use no application.

My question is the following will not slow down the application.

Quartz will not slow your application down.

imagine that was done and nobody deploy this application to sweat the job will run?

Obviously the application needs to run to get the scheduler to work. If your site doesn’t get very many visitors, you might need to add another task that makes a request regularly to prevent the web server from going idle at the time the task is to run.

For now the issue is that IIS/ASP.NET is to create web applications. It is not intended to schedule tasks so it should be only your last resort and a console app scheduled using  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/schedule-task#1TC=windows-7 as
it seems you were previsouly doing seems more logical.

If you operate on data it could be also a SQL Server job. Or the scheduled task could call a particular page on your server if you want to keep this task (but just the work not triggering this work) as part of your web site code.

Scheduling this task from the web app itself should be IMO your last resort (this is just not the purpose of a web site).

maybe check another event in Global.asax.cs in Application_Start instead of being another check?

So imagine a question that was once accessed will be at this time the job will run every day.
