[RESOLVED]JQuery Dialog with ASP.Net/SQL Server

Hello everyone and thanks for your help in advance.  I am a jQuery novice and want to implement jQuery Dialog widget to perform CRUD operation to a SQL Server database.  I have seen a few examples, but am really confused as to how to implement this solution.
Do you need an actual page that performs the CRUD operations, and the use an Ajax POST, or is there another method?  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi kmcnet,

Based on my understanding ,you need to define a page which contian your jQuery Dialog ,then use the ajax to performs the curd operations.

Here are two tutorials which you can refer:

Hi kmcnet,

you can do it with the help of Partial views. here is the list of steps you may be doing to implement this,

  1. create MVC partial views of your CRUD operations,
  2. create a parent/ container page that will call/hold these partial views
  3. now from your container page, call these partial views in jQuery dialog boxes, in response to user actions,
  4. in your controller class add methods to return these partial views and also add methods to handle post requests from these views.

hopefully it will help you, and you can get help from the links shared by last reply from "Kevin Shen". thanks

jQuery Dialog widget to perform CRUD operation to a SQL Server database.

You need to integrate that jQuery Dialog widget with the server side code which actually performs the CRUD operations since jQuery don’t have direct access to SQL database.

You don’t need an actual page. You can implement the CRUD operations using web services (Web API, ASMX or anything you like) and call those web service endpoints using AJAX.

Thank you all for the response and excellent answers.  Sorry for the delay in marking answered and getting back to these posts.
