I’ve a web-page built in 2005 with VS2005, it is loading lots of data. It works fine with Chrome and IE10+ version but not working with IE8/9. It was working fine couple of weeks back. We don’t have anything update on the page.
I tried to track it down by looking nw traffic in chrome and IE dev tool but no luck. In IE it response back with the same time as in chrome but not loading the page quick as chrome in IE. After long time it works.
Any idea how can i track down the issue?
Thanks in advance!
Have you tried using the Developer Tools (F12) within your browser and checking the Console area for any errors that might be appearing? My second recommendation would be to take a look at the Network traffic that is coming across on your page (which
you have already done) to see if there are any issues there.
Could you provide a bit more detail about what you are attempting to do? Performance in later browsers may be much better than previous versions, which could explain your performance issues. You might want to consider reducing the size of the data that you
are pulling across to see if that has any effects on your experience.
Thanks for quick reply.
In IE DEV tool Console area I am getting below warning and suggestions. By removing the check box in the IE settings the HTML1202 gone. Not sure how can i track down the SEC7115.
SEC7115: :visited and :link styles can only differ by color. Some styles were not applied to :visited.
HTML1202: <URL> is running in Compatibility View because ‘Display intranet sites in Compatibility View’ is checked.
In the Network traffic for couple static files (css/js) used by my page is showing 304 code in result while for same it is showing 200 code in chrome. Also, I noticed it took very long time to load CSS in IE Dev tool.
I’m trying to fix the page to load the all data same as how it is working in chrome n IE10+ version. The last option I have to add pagination to just show partial data. But before that if there is any unsupported css or html for IE8/9, I would like to fix
The only thing that I can think of is that some of the files that you may be loading are not being loaded properly (or certain functionality may not be supported) within the Compatiblity Document mode that might be causing issues.
Are you using any specific libraries like Bootstrap or anything like that?
I think you’re right, some files are not loading properly but I’m unable to track it down. The only thing we are using is minimerge to merge some css and js files. (https://github.com/QubitProducts/miniMerge)
