[RESOLVED]Denial of Service Attacks on Web site

Hi,

I am looking for any tips as a developer, to mornitor DDOs attacks and avoid . Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

There are server scripts which could deny some IP address for some time on some rules, by example more than 5 requests for 1 second etc…

You should ask your server admins for more details.

it’s hard to stop real ddos attacks. if you have a little scriptkid trying to ddos you he will probaply use like 2000 different ip’s it’s not that bad.

if you get a real ddos attack from groups like anonymous then you can just stand by as ddos attacks can be done on different levels (tcp/udp) you can’t possibly block it all but these guys use botnets of 10k+ ip’s even if they ping your server on the same
second one time it will be a hard for your server to take that in. the best solution in my opinion would be to have different servers and a dns with loadbalancing that splits the traffic to the different servers. this is not a solution but it helps defend
yourself a little
