How to change icon color in Solution Explorer

Hi, Is there a way to change the colors (or perhaps add an overlay) to the files in Solution Explorer?

It would be great to be able to ‘tag’ the files with different colors so that you can see for example what status the different files have.

Hi,

As far as I know there is not a build-in feature. And here is a add-in maybe helpful for you:

http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/d0d33361-18e2-46c0-8ff2-4adea1e34fef

And you can check more add-ins at Visual Studio Gallery:

I hope this can be helpful for you.

Hi,

I couldn’t find anything there.

Any other ideas?

[RESOLVED]VS 2010 project/solutions

I’m opening some project off of the codeplex website.  When I do, it lists two types of files: *.cs and *.debug.cs

Can someone tell me what the *.designer.cs" are?

Also, when I build the application, it creates a "dll" in the "debug" directory.  How do I make a dll get built in the "release" directory?

Thanks.

The designer files are used in Web Application projects. Visual studio uses these to keep track of controls you use in your form. To build to the release folder, you set the build to Release and then build the application.

Thank you for this.
